– Between the Buried and Me brought the Coma Ecliptic tour to Pittsburgh Stage AE and it was a brilliant display of musicianship and technical showmanship
The Contortionist got things rolling in fine fashion. Their music is a mix of metal and prog and can shift several times in one song. Vocalist Mike Lessard has no problems singing cleanly and with your typical metal growls.
The three piece Animals as Leaders is an interesting band in that it consists two guitar players and a drummer, but the band sounds as full as any 5 piece ensemble.
Between the Buried and Me played a mix of older songs as well as selection from their new album Coma Ecliptic and then closed the set with a cover of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
The interesting thing about this show was the mix of music both between the bands and within each bands set. It is definitely a show worth checking out.
