Tuesday August 19th saw the 2014 Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar festival makes it’s way to Stage AE. While in the past this festival brings several stages, Pittsburgh saw a slightly scaled down version, however that did not stop the crowd from rocking to 4 solid performances.
Starting things out was a highly energetic set from Michigan’s Pop Evil. Pop Evil is out supporting their latest release Onyx. Front man Leigh Kakaty got the crowd started with hits such as Last Man Standin, Trenches, and more.
Following Pop Evil was Buckcherry. This date also saw the release of Buckcherry’s newest EP, F#ck. Starting the show with Lit up and closing with Crazy Bitch, Josh Todd and company kept the party rolling.
Skillet was up next and for me was the surprise of the night. Their high energy show was punctuated by solid guitar work and harmonized vocals. This band is definitely on the way up and the crowd was loving every minute of it
Godsmack closed out the show with a solid set of songs from their catalog and their newest release 1000hp. Sully Erna and company had a brief hiatus over the last few years but came out swinging and played a remarkable set.
Uproar festival may have been smaller when it visited Pittsburgh, but the energy was through the roof.
