Lita Ford came to rock Jergels on Sunday night to a packed house of fans dedicated to the glorious music of the 80s. Lita and her band, Patrick Kennsion, guitar – Marten Andersson, bass and Bobby Rock, drums, were tight and precise from start to finish. The set opened up with “Gotta Let Go” and “Larger Than Life” followed by “Relentless” a track that’s a bit newer in the discography. The set consisted of mostly 80s rockers like “Playin’ With Fire”, “Back to the Cave” where the crowd got to be involved with singing along and the more heavy in your face “Cant Catch Me”. One thing I really liked about the show was that each musician had their moment to shine, taking center stage and ripping off solos including an absolute epic drum solo by Bobby Rock, who even managed to play on the lighting rack behind the kit, just goes to show that as a drummer if you can hit it, it will make music. The set included covers by Elton John, The Runaways, Sex Pistols and Alice Cooper before closing out with hit songs “Close My Eyes Forever” and “Kiss Me Deadly”. It’s great to see that concerts have been selling very well lately and that music still remains an art to bring everyone together no matter what. If you get a chance to catch this show you won’t be left disappointed, Lita Ford rocks!
