The Aristocrats – Jergels Rhythm – 4/25/2025

Photos & Review by David Kasiorek

Friday night at Jergels was an all out jazz fusion meltdown when the instrumental trio The Aristocrats came to town. The Aristocrats features masters of their instrument of choice, Marco Minnemann (Drums), Guthrie Govan (Guitar), and Bryan Beller (Bass) when played together they fit like a glove and blow the minds of those who are there to witness it. Their music covers so many genres be it jazz, dance, rock, metal, classical, funk and all of the above and below. As a drummer myself I was completely blown away by the playing of Marco – he is just on another level with his precision and the way he adds in those little wow moments, even more so when he did an epic 8 minute long drum solo of pure insanity. The greatness of Marco does not take away from the greatness of Guthrie and Bryan who methodically create this awesome and wild music together – singing with their instruments instead of their voice. This show was more than the music however with the comedic banter and fun stories in between each song and the stuffed duck props of various species brought out to explain the titles of songs from their new album and tour of the same name “The Duck”.

If you ever have a chance to see The Aristocrats do their thing in the live, do it! You will witness a jaw dropping show of instrumentation that isn’t for the faint of heart but for those that put their heart and soul into music and what it has to offer. What a show!
