August 21st saw X Fest 2 hit Stage AE with more awesome bands and another great crowd. X Ambassadors and Drag the River got the crowd warmed up. Up next was Ska band Reel Big Fish. These guys were a lot of fun to watch. Anti-Flag was up next and this Pittsburgh based punk band played in true punk fashion. The highlight being when drummer Pat Thetic and bassist Chris No. 2 took their instruments into the crowd and played the final song. Social Distortion took the stage last and since this is the 25th anniversary of their third album they played that in it’s entirety. Without stopping the band played a few covers including a nice rendition of the Rolling Stone’s “Wild Horses” as well as their version of “Ring of Fire”
All in all both X fest 1 and 2 were huge successes. Here is to hoping the The X continues this great summer tradition.
