Drowning Pool, Adrenaline Mob, Full Devil Jacket and Shrouded in Neglect at Altar Bar – 3/24/2015

– Drowning Pool brought their Unlucky 13th Anniversary of Sinner tour to Pittsburgh’s Altar bar and it was an evening of solid performances from everyone involved. Starting the evening off was the band Worst Kept Secret. Unfortunately due to some terrible traffic I missed the majority of their set, however, from what I saw they gave a solid performance and the crowd was in to them. Up next was Shrouded in Neglect. I have heard a lot about these guys and I must say I was not disappointed. These guys can tear it up. If you ever get a chance to see these guys around town, do it.

Full Devil Jacket was up next. These guys had a great set culminating in an awesome extended guitar solo. They are supporting a new album called Valley of Bones. This is their first album in 15 years and from what I have heard it’s a great album.

Next on the bill was Adrenaline Mob. During the changeover they had a graphic projected on the screens memorializing late drummer AJ Pero, while Twisted Sister songs played over the PA. They came out with a bang, dedicating the set to Pero and saying that he would have wanted them to continue with the tour. It was obvious that the emotions on stage were high and it translated through the music. Supporting their newest release, Dearly Departed, their set consisted of a good mix of originals and covers, highlighted by The Devil Went Down to Georgia and The Mob Rules.

For the main event Drowning Pool came on stage performing their debut album Sinner in its entirety. Drowning pool has gone through their fair share of singers since the untimely death of original singer Dave Williams, but current singer Jasen Moreno fills the huge shoes nicely. It has been 13 years since the album was released and it still holds up today.

All in all it was a face melting evening of pure metal with tons of emotion and heavy music. Check out the pics from each band below.
