In Flames at Stage AE on 5/14/2015
– In Flames charmed Stage AE this past Thursday when they brought their Charming America Tour to Pittsburgh. Supported by Periphery and All That Remains, it was an evening of intense, in your face metal.
In Flames hit the stage with the classic “Embody the Invisible” from 1999 release Colony, and did not let up. The band played songs off of many of the classic albums such as well as the recent release Siren Charms, so there was something for all fans old and new.
Vocalist Anders Fridén sang with tons of intensity and passion, while between songs he discussed beer and facial hair with the audience. Björn Gelotte and Niclas Engelin provided thundering guitar riffs and the distinct guitar harmonies that give In Flames it’s signature sound.
Highlights of the set included “Take This Life”, “Clayman”, “The Quiet Place”, “Everything’s Gone” and the set closer, “My Sweet Shadow”.
In Flames knows how to put on a show and is a band not to be missed.
