The soon-to-be-released motion picture Same Circus/Different Town shows you around the storied career of The Damaged Pies, Pittsburgh’s best kept secret in alternative music. The band has had over 30 members over its 25-year history and has been everything from a six piece pop band to a four piece hard rock band to a four piece experimental band to a three piece garage rock band to a solo acoustic act. The movie captures the heartfelt spirit of the band in various venues, basements, and an appearance on KDKA. Steve Bodner, the only original member to be with the band for its entire history, has worked tirelessly to support various worthy causes to aid the hungry and strengthen local communities. To that end, this event’s proceeds benefit WhyHunger , which is a leading organization in building the movement to end hunger and poverty by connecting people to nutritious, affordable food and by supporting grassroots solutions that inspire self-reliance and community empowerment.
