X FEST featuring Rise Against, Chevelle, Killswitch Engage, Letlive and Meg Myers – Stage AE – 7/25/2015

– After a nine year absence Xfest returned to Stage AE this past Saturday to a sold out crowd who braved the heat to rock out with 105.9 The X and some great bands. Vocalist Meg Myers got things off to a great start with her hard rock riffs and passionate vocals.   While not as heavy as the bands that followed her, her performance did not feel out of place at all.   Up next was LA based band Letlive.   Lead singer Jason Butler was all over the stage and the crowd, getting the crowd even more amped up as the temperatures kept rising.   Killswitch Engage was up next and they came out ready to melt faces and keep the energy going. The always entertaining Adam Dutkiewicz was all over the stage as original vocalist Jesse Leach kept the crowd engaged.   The crowd was treated to some new material from the upcoming album and it was a great sign of things to come from this heavy metal staple.   As the temperatures kept rising and the great Stage AE staff kept the crowd hosed down, Chevelle hit the stage to the delight of all the fans. Formed in the 90’s this power trio knows how to rock and they did not disappoint. Chicago’s Rise Against closed out the evening with a powerful energetic set. The constant wave of crowd surfers kept the security on their feet, but it was a great response to a great set.

Overall Xfest was a huge success and it only gets better when XFest II hits Stage AE on August 21st with Social Distorition, Anti-Flag, Reel Big Fish and many more.
