DVD Review: Toto Live At Montreux Jazz 1991

toto

The Montreux Jazz Festival has produced some historic performances over the years and thankfully several of those have made it to DVD for those unable to attend.  The 1991 performance of Toto is the latest to be added to the list that include such notable artists as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Joe Satriani and Deep Purple.  Toto is a band that rock fans of all ages are certainly familiar with.  What really surprises people is the sheer musicianship that Steve Lukather, David Paich, Steve Porcaro and the late Jeff Porcaro.  The show, filmed during the recording of the Kingdom of Desire album, was to be sadly near the end of Jeff Porcaro’s life.  Jeff passed away in 1992.  This served as an important time capsule for the band.

The CD, DVD and Blu-Ray are available now from Eagle Rock Entertainment.
